Application:
RegraHeal® gel contains becaplermin, a recombinant human
platelet derived growth factor that is indicated for healing lower
extremity diabetic neuropathic ulcers.
In most patient advanced wound cares and standard therapeutic
methods for diabetic foot ulcer such as infection control, blood
supply and debridement are not effective and the recovery
process is very slow, therefore using new therapeutic methods
such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and platelet-derived
growth factor (PDGF) becomes considerable and important.
Becaplermin is the only topical medication approved by the Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) for healing diabetic foot ulcers.
